AHVLA, SVA, FLI, GD and CIRAD (with ANSES) are all directly or indirectly involved in delivery of surveillance programmes at the national, while FAO at the international level. These partners are able to provide data access to current and retrospective real-life data, also in relation to previous disease outbreaks. They are all conducting internationally acknowledged cutting edge applied research and development in relation to surveillance system design. CIRAD has extensive research experience in dealing with complex disease surveillance challenges in developing countries, compounded by poor infrastructure, and in the use of interdisciplinary approaches integrating participatory and socio-economic approaches in the design of surveillance systems.
